- ➤ Elijah McLean is held without bond in jail for his alleged role in the Feb. 28 murders of Laportia Shenett and Kadeisha Ross in Lafayette after he is accused of providing a murder weapon and helping hide its parts, court documents show. Journal & Courier
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wabash River Enhancement Corporation has received a $35,000 Duke Energy Foundation grant to restore native oak savanna habitat along the Wabash River Greenway in Tippecanoe County. The project will convert a 20-acre fallow field into a public green space by removing invasive grasses, planting prairie seeds and establishing oak trees—adding trails and a parking area. - ➤ Purdue will conclude its spring season with a free showcase on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium that begins at noon and features practice drills and scrimmage plays—letting fans see the team’s preparation for the fall season.
