  • Lafayette will host a range of Easter events this week — families can visit the Easter Bunny at Tippecanoe Mall from April 4 through 19 and enjoy festive activities, while adults participate in the 7th Annual Scouting 4 Eggs Adult Easter Egg Hunt at Franklin L. Cary Camp on April 12. On April 19, children can join free family activities at Duncan Hall and a community egg hunt at Immanuel United Church.  Star City News
  • Cars for Keeps is hosting its annual Drive Out Poverty fundraiser on April 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Stables Event Center in Lafayette to help low-income families get reliable vehicles — guests will enjoy appetizers, a silent auction, and raffles with racing laps and beverage draws as the event aims to raise $35,000 for operations.  WLFI

CRIME NEWS

  • Kokomo man Dimanione Lovelace was found guilty Tuesday on 12 charges including murder, robbery, theft and use of a firearm in the killing of 18-year-old Anthony Holdbrook on New Year's Day—he will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. May 28 and faces a potential sentence of 45 to 65 years with up to 20 more while his accomplices have pleaded guilty and await sentencing.  Journal & Courier
