  • Daniela from Vinton Elementary was honored with the Lafayette Police Department’s Student of the Month Award for her hard work, kindness, and positive attitude—City officials including School Resource Officer Roberts, Chief Galloway, Mayor Roswarski, and City Clerk Murray presented the award based on her teacher’s heartfelt nomination.  Star City News
  • Healthy Kids Running Series will start its spring race season at Ross Hills Parks in April for children ages 2-18 including a special division for those with disabilities. Early bird registration is $45 per child and races will occur at 3:00 p.m. on April 13, April 27, May 4, May 11 and May 18.  WLFI

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Sunday morning, the Lafayette Fire Department responded to a fire in the 900 block of South 10th Street where flames quickly spread in a two-story home—its only occupant escaped safely after being checked at IU Health Arnett Hospital and a neighbor reported lost cats—and a preliminary investigation pointed to self-heating materials as the possible cause.  Star City News

  • Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita advised residents to delete their 23andMe accounts after the company filed for bankruptcy — he said sensitive personal data might be sold or transferred during the proceedings.  Star City News

  • A Purdue University survey shows Lafayette residents know unprocessed foods are healthier but often opt for processed options due to convenience — local residents Tracee Wassenaar and Savannah Willeke explained that busy schedules and spontaneous meal choices drive this trend.  Star City News
