- ➤ Woodhaven Rescue Farm is hosting a community garage sale Saturday, Mar. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with early bird shopping at 8 a.m. for a ($25 donation) to raise funds for food and vet bills. Drop-off donations are accepted Friday at IBEW Local 668, 2535 South 30th Street. WLFI
- ➤ Lafayette Police Department (LPD) will host a spring break event at Malibu Jack’s indoor theme park on March 26 from 4-7 p.m. during school break; the first 150 kids will get a free attraction pass or $12 in game play. Star City News
- ➤ Local community remembers downtown advocate Ken McCammon for his role in revitalizing Main Street and organizing events that supported local businesses. Visitation is today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, with a celebration of life on March 15 at Lafayette Brewing Company (events honoring his legacy). Star City News

- ➤ Earlier this week, a tornado struck Lake Village, causing the death of an elderly couple and prompting Lafayette Fire Department Lt. David Rose to join Indiana Task Force One for search and rescue and cleanup before returning to duty. Star City News
- ➤ Newton County Coroner's Office in Lake Village identified Edward Kozlowski (89) and his wife Arlene (84) as tornado victims after their home was hit Tuesday evening, and an autopsy is scheduled in Lafayette tomorrow. WLFI

- ➤ Craig Shaeffer, an eighth-grade teacher at West Lafayette Junior-Senior High, is rising as horror author Jonathan Janz after signing a three-book deal with Blackstone Publishing, and his new novel VEIL draws on local life and will soon reach more bookstores. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Tiffani Earley, a kindergarten teacher at Cole Elementary, is named coordinator of the new early learning center for students with disabilities in Lafayette. The center, serving over 220 students, will open in August off Walter Scholer Drive. Star City News
- ➤ Coding Minds Academy offers kids 6 and older a chance to learn coding basics on MakeCode Arcade every Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at McAllister Recreation Center from April 2 to May 21, with registration available online or by calling (765) 807-1360. Star City News
- ➤ St. James Lutheran athletic director Amanda Goodspeed led a tour of the original 1910 basketball gym (now a music classroom) in downtown Lafayette. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Tippecanoe County staff propose a zoning change for Purdue’s Discovery Park that will allow the Purdue Research Foundation to build ground-floor housing without requiring commercial space. The Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission will review the amendment at a meeting on Wednesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at the County Building. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Purdue Swimming & Diving swept the platform event at Zone C in Ypsilanti, and all six male divers qualified for the NCAA Championships. The team will send a record 11 men to compete in Atlanta from March 25-28. WLFI
- ➤ On Thursday night, Purdue Men's Basketball beat Northwestern 81-68 in Chicago, with Kaufman-Renn and Cluff combining for 38 points and Smith breaking the Big Ten Tournament single-game assist record — setting up a quarterfinal against Nebraska tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. WLFI
