- ➤ Maya Zilbershlag, a promising FIBA star, committed to Purdue women's basketball for the 2026-27 season on Sunday, March 8, after strong showings in summer play. - ➤ Last Saturday, at the IHSAA boys basketball sectionals, three Lafayette area players scored 30 points as teams like Harrison, Rossville, Tri-County, Benton Central and West Lafayette earned sectional championships; fans may vote for the top performer until noon Thursday. Journal & Courier
