  • Lafayette Urban Ministry and the Greater Lafayette Homelessness Steering Committee will host the Beyond the Bridge Community Open Forum on Mar. 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Connection Point Church (2541 Cumberland Ave) to discuss local homelessness and propose a new task force for long-term solutions.  Journal & Courier

  • Dog N Suds is opening its 70th season today at its Lafayette drive-ins, serving signature coney dogs, burgers + frosted root beer. General Manager Joe Davenport credits decades of consistent quality and community support for keeping the restaurant a local favorite.  Journal & Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Purdue University chief marketing officer Kelly Hiller was named a 2026 Inspiring Women honoree by Campaign US for her leadership + she will be formally recognized at an April 23 ceremony in New York City.  Journal & Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Faith Christian junior gymnast Morgan Gudeman practiced hard at Elite Gymnastics Club under coach Judie Malone after a 27th place finish last season. She will compete at the IHSAA sectionals Saturday, Feb. 28 in Lafayette to show her improved routine.  Journal & Courier
  • Lafayette area high school boys basketball sectional pairings will be announced Sunday at 6 p.m. on the IHSAA network, with live updates provided by Kyle Neddenriep + Greg Rakestraw. Local teams, including Lafayette Jeff, will have their matchups revealed as the draw unfolds.  Journal & Courier
  • Rossville wrestlers Jacob Weaver and Jacob Cole placed seventh at the 2026 IHSAA Boys State Wrestling Finals held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They advanced through challenging brackets and earned podium finishes, capping off impressive seasons for their team.  WLFI
  • Former Purdue football star Rondale Moore died Saturday, Feb. 21 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, leaving a lasting legacy from his record-setting 2018 season at Purdue. Purdue teammates and fans in West Lafayette are mourning his loss (and remembering his achievements) as his impact endures.  Journal & Courier
  • Indiana high school boys basketball sectional draw was unveiled Sunday from 6-8 p.m. on IHSAAtv.org, and Preps Insider Kyle Neddenriep provided live analysis on YouTube at 9:15 p.m. (Sectional play begins March 3) (state finals are on March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse).  Journal & Courier
