COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Today, the Lafayette Fire Department Special Operations Division + West Lafayette and Wabash Township fire departments conducted an ice rescue training exercise to practice self-rescue and victim retrieval, reminding residents that ice is never safe.  Star City News
  • After cold winter weeks, locals in West Lafayette are enjoying warmer weather as Purdue students and community members take advantage of outdoor activities such as studying in the sun and playing games; families are connecting in open spaces.  Star City News
  • Lafayette Urban Ministry is asking for donations to help fund its emergency shelter and winter warming station that reached full capacity this winter. The organization said providing warmth, safety, and food costs about $20 per person.  Star City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Faculty at Purdue have raised concerns over Provost Wolfe's leadership and plan a no-confidence vote — feedback is due by March 19 with a senate vote on March 23. The vote will not immediately affect his role but signals wider worries about university policies.  Journal & Courier
