HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ In 2025, 467 Indiana organ donors saved 1,214 lives by donating 1,379 organs + last Saturday, National Donor Day honored their contributions and urged residents to register at local offices. WLFI
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Purdue played Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. Fans in Lafayette tuned in on 96.5 FM for live game coverage. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Fountain Central girls basketball coach Sam Karr said the team fell 40-36 to North Miami in the IHSAA Class 1A regional final Saturday at Case Arena — they will work to return stronger in 2027. The close game featured an 11-0 run and disputed calls in the final minutes. Journal & Courier
- ➤ McCutcheon girls basketball won a second IHSAA Class 4A regional title on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Case Arena, rallying around injured star Ameria Gibson (who hurt her left knee) while guard Lillie Graves led with 14 points and rebounds. The Mavericks topped Hamilton Southeastern 56-39 with strong defense. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Lafayette Jeff wrestlers RJ McCoy and Robert McKinney joined four other local wrestlers from Rossville and Southmont to reach the IHSAA state meet after strong finishes at semi-state. They will compete at the state meet beginning Friday. Journal & Courier
