- ➤ Lafayette Urban Ministry is seeking donations to support its 48-bed emergency shelter and winter warming station as demand grows; the facility (525 N. Fourth St.) has been full since April and relies on community gifts to cover costs of $20 per night for each guest. Journal & Courier
- ➤ After years of delays including setbacks from COVID and a bankrupt vendor, the carousel will debut over Memorial Day weekend at Columbian Park — housed in a new building featuring classic horses and exotic animals along with ADA compliant chariots. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Purdue University will mark America250 with a yearlong series of lectures and community activities starting with a talk by award-winning writer Timothy Ferris at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26, and the campus will display banners plus commemorative merchandise to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.
