COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lafayette Urban Ministry is seeking donations of fresh fruit, snack-sized apples, carrots, raisins, yogurt cups, applesauce and pudding to supply healthy snacks for its after school program.  Star City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Visit Indiana launched an interactive map showing haunted and paranormal sites in a nod to Stranger Things, set in fictional Hawkins. The guide invites Hoosiers to explore the state's quirky spots (including Indiana Beach) as a fun way to connect with local lore.  WLFI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Indiana drivers can choose from five new SRG license plates available at the BMV—which support nonprofits, universities, and the Indiana Fever—and organizations can apply for their own plate by April 1, with review set for mid-summer.  Journal & Courier
  • Wabash Township Fire Department added advanced life support and paramedics to its services, which are expected to reduce response times and improve patient care with cardiac monitoring and advanced airway management. The upgrade builds on its long-standing commitment to offer essential emergency services.  Star City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Purdue football added four transfers on Jan. 8 to boost its roster, with two defenders from Illinois and a center from South Carolina filling an offensive line spot. The moves strengthen the team for the upcoming season.  Journal & Courier
  • Purdue players Smith, Kaufman-Renn, and Mayer talked about their 81-73 win over Washington on Wednesday — noting how the close game highlighted their teamwork.  Journal & Courier
  • A local IU fan sprinkled holy water from a Bloomington retreat on the field during the Big Ten championship, and the water will be used Friday at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta to lend a ritual touch to the team's first outright Big Ten title since 1945.  Journal & Courier
