- ➤ Purdue football announced Sunday it added Jerrick Gibson to bolster its running back depth after key players transferred out and eligibility issues arose. The former Top 100 recruit played at Texas and brings three years of eligibility to the team. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Senior point guard Braden Smith broke the Big Ten assists record during Purdue’s 89-73 win at Wisconsin — the team will host Washington on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. to resume action. WLFI
- ➤ Purdue football coach Barry Odom hired former Colorado State scouting director Xavier Goldsmith as associate director of scouting on Jan. 4 in West Lafayette. Goldsmith, who also worked at Utah and Western Michigan (joining Butler Benton), will help strengthen the Boilermakers' staff. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue football added junior college All-American safety Ta’Vari Hampton to its 2026 roster on Jan. 4 (West Lafayette). The Florida native and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M standout fills a much-needed role as key players departed from the secondary. Journal & Courier
